My 2013 Bests: Books, Music, TV and Movies!

I can't even remember half the things I did this year - everything's just gone by so quick. I thought I'd mix it up a bit and but my 'best' books, music and TV shows of this year! - All of which are *new* to me this year.

Books:
*If you press the book covers, I've linked it to their GoodReads page ;D

These are (some) of my best best books I found in 2013 (I hope I didn't miss anything out...)

The Delirium Series by Lauren Oliver - it seems like such a while ago I finished this series but it's seriously one of my favourites. Oliver's writing is just so perfect, with her beautiful description and the ending that surprisingly left me happier the more I thought about it, rather than disappointed which is what I know a lot of people thought. - Admittedly this isn't a new new series that I picked up this year, I picked up Delirium at the end of last year but I finished reading it this year, so it counts in my mind :P

Soulmates by Holly Bourne - a romance book with a twist. Not exactly the 'typical' of sorts but it was perfect. I love the fact that it didn't fit the ordinary lovey-dovey romance novels.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick - I read this book at the beginning of 2013 and it's stuck by me all the way through this year. As soon as I read about Samantha's life and Jase, I fell in love with the whole fictional world. It tore out my heart and I felt everything Sam was feeling. I need to find my Jase.

Play With Me by Anna Katmore - This is short, sweet and delicious novella that left me oddly pleased. I was a little put off by its length but it delivered everything I wanted from a full length novel. Thankfully Anna then went ahead and published another novella with the POV of Ryan - as perfect as the POV from Liza. Liza is a lucky gal.

Slammed by Colleen Hoover - I'm just putting the first book on here as my 'best' because (I'm about to get really weird) when I read it I fell in love. Will Cooper, you are an amazing male character. Ok, you may read the synopsis and be like, this book sounds really cliché but just read it first. It's amazing...

Music
*If you press the album artworks, I've linked YouTube vids of their music to them ;)

Imagine Dragons - DUH! Best find of the year. Their music is awesome, when they perform live, they are just awesome. I encourage everyone to go see them live because they are amazing!!!

Eliza and the Bear - UK pop band, who I would of never heard of unless going to an Imagine Dragon concert. Just cute UK pop music - but none of that One Direction crap.

Lifehouse - So I don't even know where to classs this band but apparently, according to wiki, their most recent album Almeria is southern rock. So this is a southern rock band..? A good find.

Hunter Hayes - I went on a bit of a 'click the next video that it recommends me on the side' stream and Hunter Hayes appeared. I'd call his music Country/Pop and I love his music. He's my most recent find!

TV
*If you press the promo images, I've linked YouTube vids of their TV adverts ;)

I'm not such a avid TV watcher and most of the time I watch online! This year, I haven't actually watched that many new TV shows, I can only really think of two! So the two shows:

Golden Boy (CBS): Heard of the actor Theo James? Have you been living under a rock? Divergent? Tobias? One of the reasons why I started to watch this was to see what Theo's acting was like, I mean, if he's gunna play Four I need to know what's coming, right?

So I watched the first season of Golden Boy to then find it'd been cancelled! I love this series, and yeah, Theo James was the eye-candy whilst watching this I fell in love with the whole cast. The story is about a detective who's basically solving different cases each episode as well as the mix of his personal life ...Oh it was just perfect...but  the season ended with a cliff-hanger we'll never know the answer to!

American Horror Story, Murder House (FX): So I've only watched the first 4 episodes so far but...my gosh, what a show. It was during one of the half terms where I decided I was going to sit down a

nd watch this series. I've heard so much about this show and how massive it is in America and was just like: "it's time!"

It's not exactly a TV show for the faint hearted. I kinda went in blind and the pilot was probably the scariest out of the four I've watched so far. But I can't wait to watch the rest...when it's not so dark outside!

Last of all, Movies
*If you press the posters, I've linked YouTube vids of the trailer ;)

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - a bit of an obvious movie choice. I don't think I need to say much about this film if you've seen it already, and if you haven't seen it yet, then you need to get to a cinema asap!!

Pitch Perfect - I'm literally all over this film. Singing and cute guys *cough* Skylar Astin *cough* this film spoke to me through the trailer.

Merry Christmas everyone!
